The Data we Collect and Hold of Yours and What we do with it
We are firmly of the view that we should treat your business dealings with us as we would wish other traders to treat our personal data. We respect the data you give about yourself and the answers you give to the questions we ask as you pass through Checkout. We promise to safeguard that information to the best of our ability and yes we do hold it on a computer as well as in paper files. We promise not to sell, rent, lease or give your data to any other commercial or charitable organization. The only time we will release any data held about our dealings is if required to by the courts, police or HM Government agencies (e.g. Custom and Excise).
With your permission the data we retain on our computer when you place an order are your contact details (name, address, phone number, email address) and the answers you give or the selections you make to our questions when you pass through Checkout. We use this information to process your order(s) (the immediate order and future orders should you come back and buy from us again) plus we also use the data internally to look at our customer profile and trading history. If we are struggling to fulfil your order we will contact you using your preferred method (i.e. phone, text or email) and agree an acceptable course of action. On no account do we hold any financial details, e.g. bank details (name, sort code, account number), credit/debit cards numbers, of yours. All transaction dealings are done through our payment gateway (PayPal) and apart from confirming payment having been made they do not release any of your financial details to us.
Occasionally, and we mean very occasionally, we may contact you to update our records, check if you wish to remain on our database and alert you to new material we think may be of interest to you. If you prefer NOT to receive such very infrequent mailings be sure to tick the box as you pass through Checkout. We hate spam emails, cold calling and receiving unsolicited marketing post so we simply will not do it to our customers.
If you prefer us NOT to hold your contact details then we will simply process your order as a Nom De-plume and use our address. We will however retain a paper copy of your order for our record purposes.
We are happy to provide you with a copy of all the data we hold on you at no cost and if there are errors correct it within hours not days or weeks of you telling us. If you instruct us to remove your data then we will do so immediately. However, before responding to your request for the data we hold on you we may ask a few questions to verify you are who you claim to be after all we're required to protect it and that means being exceedingly careful to whom we divulge the information too.
Printed data, e.g. names and addresses on paper communications, once finished with is shredded and fed to our ferocious composting worms!
